Farshid Namei was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She received an engineering degree from University of Tehran and in 1974 came to the United States to attend graduate school. When she first arrived in the States, life was not easy for Farshid. She had to learn English while simultaneously taking graduate courses. Ultimately, she earned her MBA from University of San Francisco, and her Certified Financial Planning degree from the College of Financial Planning. Her hard work paid off when she landed her dream job at a prestigious financial institution.

In September 2002, after ten years of having a very successful career as a Financial Consultant she left her position to pursue a dream that had been with her since childhood: to devote her life to painting full time. Painting has been Farshid's passion for as long as she could remember. She had always known in her heart that "someday" she would be financially secure enough to pursue her dream. The "someday" she had been waiting for finally arrived on August 31, 2002, when she drove home from her office for the last time, ready to embark on the next stage of her life.

Farshid is a Signature Member of National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society since 2009.
